MUNTHE - FEMALE EMPOWERMENT

Inequality between genders is still holding many girls and women back. Women are paid less, carry a greater burden of unpaid domestic and care work, and face lower levels of financial security. As a result, their ability to make their own choices and influence social change is often limited.

At MUNTHE, we genuinely believe that by realizing the potential of women, we can positively change the way we live. That is why we continue to use our brand as a platform to support girls and women, so that together we can foster a more respectful, prosperous, and appreciative world.

In 2025, MUNTHE pledged to donate 10% of its pre-tax profits to initiatives supporting women and girls. This commitment will continue annually, ensuring sustained support for female empowerment both nationally and internationally.

MUNTHE supports female artists on a global level through the ART MONDAY program. More than 250 artists have been featured and promoted across our platforms to help ensure that female artists receive the recognition they deserve.

Caring for others has always been at the core of MUNTHE. We believe that every action matters, and we feel a strong responsibility to collaborate with individuals and organizations that work to support communities both locally and globally.

100% FEMALE FOUNDED AND OWNED

Naja Munthe founded the brand back in 1994. After finishing the Danish Design School, she wanted to find a way to express her love for creativity, art, fashion, and her entrepreneurial mindset. Creating MUNTHE fulfilled this passion – and today, Naja is the sole owner and Creative Director of MUNTHE.

SOCIAL CHARITIES FOR FEMALE EMPOWERMENT 2025

As we continue to expand our horizons, we recognize the broader impact of our actions. Local events can have global consequences, which is why we take our social responsibility seriously.

At MUNTHE, caring for others has always been at our core. We believe that every action matters, and we feel a deep responsibility to collaborate with individuals and organizations to support both national and international communities.

In 2025, MUNTHE donated 442,011.75 DKK (59,167.25 EUR) of its pre-tax profits to women's initiatives that drive meaningful change.

MUNTHE ART MONDAY

Women have long faced inequality in the art world, and despite progress, they remain significantly underrepresented in museums, galleries, and auction houses. While women comprise 51% of all visual artists today, only 13,7% of living artists represented by galleries in Europe and North America are women. SOURCE: nmwa.org At MUNTHE, we believe it is essential to amplify female voices in the art world. Our commitment extends to showcasing talented women artists while shedding light on the persistent gender imbalance in the industry. Through our Art Monday program, we feature a new artist and women within the arts each week, sharing their story and work through an exclusive interview.

MUNTHE FOR WOMEN – PAY IT FORWARD

MUNTHE FOR WOMEN – Pay It Forward is an initiative where MUNTHE invites a MUNTHE Muse each month from around the world to join us in supporting organizations dedicated to women and girls. Together with MUNTHE, each Muse selects an organization that works to strengthen and uplift women, and a donation of €2,000 – covered by MUNTHE – is made in support of their work.

By giving our community of MUNTHE Muses the opportunity to highlight causes that matter to them personally, the initiative aims to bring attention to a wide range of important organizations and the meaningful work they carry out. Through MUNTHE FOR WOMEN – Pay It Forward, we hope to inspire continued awareness, engagement, and support for women-focused initiatives across different communities and countries. Learn more about our latest donations here:
